We held our first fundraising event on August 15, 2015.  Every year, the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association (TPCBA) holds their annual picnic in August at a beautiful farm in Olalla.  Rachel’s dad’s band has played music at these events for the last several years as part of the entertainment.  Each year, as part of their commitment to give back to the community, the TPCBA selects a charitable cause to have a presence at their event.  About six months ago, they selected our Relay for Life team, Team Henley, to be the featured charity at their 2015 event.  When we established the Rachel Lynn Henley Foundation, they agreed to host the Foundation instead.

 

We had a tent set up and several of us were there to discuss our mission, sell bracelets, and talk to a lot of wonderful people.  It was a successful event and was a great chance for us to kick things off by collecting donations in the amount of $645.65 and raising awareness for our cause. Thanks to TPCBA for hosting us and their support.
